Australian Business Academy (ABA) was founded with the philosophy of providing a dynamic, quality approach to learning. The constantly changing workplace demands education that adapts to advances in technology and to the specific requirements of industry. Carmen Simpson Spirit of Achievement Award – This award is presented to a student selected across all disciplines.  It is judged by the Academic and Administrative staff collectively, not merely on the basis of academic achievement but to a student who demonstrates the following characteristics and traits: Hardworking,
Committed to their chosen career, High quest for learning, Both a team leader & player, Well mannered & presented, Good attendance record and has demonstrated to the Academy that they are keen to achieve to the best of their ability.

Leadership Award  - Displayed outstanding leadership qualities both inside and outside of the classroom. The recipient of this award shows a mature approach both to their studies and personal life.  They have assisted their fellow students in their studies and been a leader of their peers.

Winners of both the Carmen Simpson Spirit of Achievement Award and the Leadership Award are proudly recognised on Honour Boards in the foyer of each campus. Additionally, a graduate in each course offered by the Academy is presented with an Academic Excellence Award and a Industry Placement Award at the annual graduation ceremony.
 
ABA has also consistently been recognised as an outstanding provider of education. ABA has twice won ACT Small Registered Training Organisation of the Year, in 2003 and 2001. ABA has also been a finalist in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

In 2006, Josh Hanlon, a 2005 graduate of the Diploma of Business (Management) and Advanced Diploma of Business (Marketing) was announced as the 2006 ACT Vocational Student of the Year. The award recognises Josh as hardworking, energetic and committed to his chosen career.  As a student of the Australian Business Academy Josh won the Carmen Simpson Spirit of Achievement Award for the Class of 2005.  He achieved high grades in the communication units of his Advanced Diploma of Business (Marketing) and now feels comfortable relating to and communicating with people of all ages and backgrounds in his real estate marketing role.  Throughout school and at the Academy, Josh has exemplified the competence, professional and personal attributes required of an effective ambassador for his school, the Academy and now his employer, Peter Blackshaw Real Estate. Josh, his family and the Academy are very proud of the award.

ABA is a Registered Training Organisation under licensing issued by the ACT Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA). Only ABA’s Canberra Campus is registered and licensed to enrol International Students under CRICOS Provider Code 01752G. The North Sydney and Parramatta campuses accept domestic enrolments only.

ABA is a member of ACPET, the Australian Council for Private Education and Training - the national industry association for independent providers of post-compulsory education and training, for Australian and international students. In all three campuses, ABA participates in the ACPET’s Australian Student Tuition Assurance Scheme (ASTAS). The Scheme ensures that students displaced from any course conducted by an ACPET member participating in ASTAS, due to the member's inability to continue the course, will be efficiently relocated with minimal disruption to studies in a comparable course with another ACPET member participating in ASTAS or other approved provider with no loss of fees paid.  In addition for the Canberra Campus, ABA is a member of ACPET’s OSTAS, an identical scheme for international students.
